No Harm Contract

A serious threat is not to be minimized. If the therapist believes that a client poses a danger to him/herself or another, the therapist should take reasonable steps to prevent the anticipated harm. Questions regarding homicide and suicide should be addressed by your lawyer, your licensing board, or your malpractice insurance carrier.

After reviewing the No Harm Contract it should be signed by the client. Complete documentation must be contained in therapeutic progress notes.
